Welcome to Diem Farms,

a small family farm on the northern Oregon coast.

When purchasing our 4 acres in 2016, we just wanted to get out of the city and have our own place in the world. Battling the invasive blackberries and then developing the expansive lawn into gardens, orchards, a chicken coop, and pastures was hard work, but excellent team building.

The “Diem Team”, as we call ourselves, is equal parts Patrick and Kaya.

Patrick was born and raised in Portland, spending all his summers in Gearhart. He developed a love of small engines and building projects, a perfect fit for farm life. After earning his degree at OSU, he enrolled in courses at Clatsop Community College and discovered an innate talent at welding and working with metal.

Kaya was born and raised in Hood River, earning a degree in Animal Sciences at OSU. She grew up in a family that bonded through cooking and discovering the improved taste of homegrown produce started her on her gardening adventures. She tends the crops and animals on the farm and became a Master Gardener in 2023.

Together we have learned a lot about managing our land in environmentally friendly ways. We prevent unnecessary chemical use and have eliminated tilling to improve soil health. With our own hands, we care for our animals and nurture plants through the growing seasons. Both of us find joy in celebrating each unique native species we’ve seen return to the land.

We have enjoyed the fruits of our labor on our small farm and are excited to be offering homegrown produce and handmade products to our local community.

Please look for us at the 2024 Seaside Farmer’s Market, selling our eggs, farm-fresh produce, and crafts.
